The Soldiers Table Revealed
Episode 3 finished on a major cliffhanger and revealed the premier party of adventurers who will separate from the main group to begin their independent quest, separate from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table features Teor (brought to life by Travis), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
Considering an extensive roster, it was clear from the beginning that keeping everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
That’s why, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Overture, weaving together the characters’ stories before branching into three separate parties: Soldiers, Planners, and Questers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for participants who enjoy a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven story mode where diplomatic options are scarce.
Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander might appear unsuited, but the developments of the latest installment show why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the group knows exactly where to go next after a violent initial meeting with the enemy group.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose passing kicked off the story’s plot—used The Crow Keepers for his own means, entering the secret base, attacking the rogue, and stealing all the enchanted items to dispose of.
The traitor then settled his debts and escaped to a fortified location in the remote area, beyond the city, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each character has a personal reason to depart the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, wants vengeance.
- Kattigan is familiar with the region and advises that it is a hostile environment.
- The warrior and The cleric, having defied his house’s orders to kill the target and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- But, their reputation as prominent individuals in House Halovar could enable the team enter places they usually can’t.
- Additionally, Teor swore a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his deliverance and will now accompany him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are hunted by the powers that control Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making remaining behind dangerous:
- Thimble and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and Wicander turned against House Halovar and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The target is marked for death by House Halovar.
This results in them few options but to head to the remote area in search of the traitor.
